HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday participated in the assembly session and gave a clarification on the central fund. Taking strong objection to the allegations leveled by Congress members regarding utilization of central funds, he said that these allegations are "baseless and not true". Refuting the allegations leveled by the opposition parties, he reiterated that the panchayat funds were never diverted. During the Question Hour, Congress members Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Sridhar Babu and Seethakka raised questions on the distribution of Panchayat Raj funds and the problems faced by sarpanches due to insufficient funds.

The Chief Minister said that the Congress's allegations of diverting panchayat funds are "baseless". He advised them not to speak in a wrong way with wrong information in the assembly. He claimed that the government has made sarpanches across the country proud by changing villages.

"We have seen many such incidents in rural areas where people have died due to drinking contaminated water.
