Although COVID situation appears to be improving, India must remain vigilant: Niti Aayog

New Delhi: Dr VK Paul, Member-Health, Niti Aayog, said on Thursday that the country's overall COVID-19 condition is positive, but India must remain vigilant.

Dr. Paul noted during a press conference, "Overall, the COVID-19 scenario appears to be very promising. However, several states, like as Kerala, Mizoram, and Himachal Pradesh, continue to record high numbers of cases. We can't let our guard down."

He emphasised the importance of remaining cautious, saying, "This virus's full extent is unknown to the rest of the globe. The virus will try to recover and become more fit in the future. Continual vigilance is required."

"We've learned a lot about his pandemic and the virus, but we still don't know everything there is to know about it. To combat this epidemic, the world should remain unified and continue to use the tools at our disposal "he said.

Luv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary of the Union Health Ministry, further stated that four states in India currently have more than 50,000 ongoing COVID cases.

"There are more than 50,000 active instances of COVID-19 in four states: Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, while 11 states have between 10,000 and 50,000 active cases," he said.
