After Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress (YSRCP) looked all poised to sweep the state of Andhra Pradesh in both the Lok Sabha elections and the Assembly elections, YSRCP founder YS Jagan Mohan Reddy thanked the voters of the state. Reddy, who is likely to be the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, told Times Now, “God and people have blessed the party.”

As per latest news, Reddy’s party was leading in 24 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. In the Assembly election results, the YSRCP was ahead in 150 seats, whereas the incumbent Telugu Desam Party (TDP) – led by N Chandrababu Naidu – was ahead in 25 seats.

A total of 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh had gone to polls on April 11.

Speaking on his party’s stellar performance in the state, Reddy told media that he “always knew it would be a landslide victory” for his party. Jagan Mohan, who is the son of former AP Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, said that as the Chief Minister of the state, he would urge PM Modi to grant Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.

He also congratulated PM Narendra Modi for his imminent victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as the latest trends showed that the NDA was ahead in 341 Lok Sabha seats out of a total of 542 seats.

The Congress-led UPA was ahead in 97 seats, as per trends.
