Presently, this move by Podeti Ashok has created a rage among the corrupt officials of the department and after his decision, the fellow officer is harassing him by saying that "he is doing the work of defaming the electricity department in this way." In a recent conversation with a website, Ashok said that- "I have been against corruption since childhood. If I take a bribe, I have to give it too. To be fair, there is a lot of corruption in the electricity department. I would like to tell people not to bribe the officers as they are paid for their work. If your work is not done then contact the high officials or go to the media, but do not bribe". Podeti Ashok joined the electricity department as Assistant Engineer in the year 2005 and in the last three and a half years he has become ADE.
