Amritsar: Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh today rejected Congress Secretary Punjab in-charge Harish Chaudhary's allegations that he had met PM Narendra Modi and bharatiya janata party (BJP) during his CM. Captain Amarinder said he would not have supported the farmers' movement against the central government's agricultural laws if he had connived.
Amarinder said on Chaudhary's allegations that if this had happened, he would not have passed a resolution to repeal the law in the Assembly. Not only that, Captain Amarinder hit out at Chaudhary saying, "He (Amarinder) is not obliged to clean up the MLA removed from the post of minister for being charged in a murder case in Rajasthan. The Captain also objected to Harish Chaudhary getting a bungalow to be given to ministers in Chandigarh. Captain Amarinder Singh asked who was paying for his residence here.
Earlier, Harish Chaudhary had accused Captain Amarinder Singh and his wife of meeting PM Modi and the BJP. It had also sent a notice alleging that the captain's wife Parneet Kaur was involved in anti-party activities. Parneet Kaur has been asked by the party to respond within a week.
