Amritsar: Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh's statement on Rahul Gandhi's resignation as the Congress Party's National President has come to light. Amarinder Singh has said that the decision taken by Rahul Gandhi is very unfortunate. But the fact that the party needs a young leader at the present point of time cannot be denied, who can rejuvenate the party with their skills and passions.

Amarinder Singh said, "there is a need for a young leader who can work towards strengthening the party. I urge the CWC to think of handing over the reins of the party to the young leader so that he can work at the grassroots level and make the party popular among the people."

Expressing disappointment over Rahul Gandhi's resignation as Congress President, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that Rahul should continue to lead the party with the same dynamics and collisions as he did during the Lok Sabha election campaign.

CM Amarinder expressed hope that Rahul will soon return to the party to take the party to heights. CM Amarinder Singh said, "This time is very difficult for the party, but we will come together and come out of this situation and be more powerful with Rahul's leadership and thinking." The Captain reiterated that the entire burden of the party's defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections cannot be burdened on Rahul's shoulders alone as it is the collective responsibility of all the Congress leaders.
