Baltal: Amarnath Yatra is currently at its peak. So far, millions of devotees have taken advantage of Baba Bhandari's philosophy. It is expected that during the holy month of Sawan, the number of devotees of Baba Bhandari will increase further. Security has also been tightened on the Amarnath Yatra. The Indian Army and J&K Police as well as the ITBP, NDRF, SDRF, MRT are fully geared up for the vigil of the young devotees.

It may be mentioned that the Amarnath Yatra has started from 1st July and will continue till 15th August. Thousands of devotees are making unintentional attendance every day at the Dham Amarnath in Baba Bhandari. The number is expected to rise further during the month of Sawan. The Amarnath Cave forms the Shivling of ice every year, which symbolizes the mythological powers of Lord Shiva.

There are two ways to reach this cave. Pilgrims either go through the 14 km short Baltal route or pass through the 45 km long Pahalgam route. On the day of visiting the Shardalus, who go through the Baltal route, they return to the base camp. Army personnel are stationed at the place in both these paths. In addition, camps and bhandaras have been started to facilitate the devotees. Which have been arranged for dinner and drink.
