Srinagar: In view of the anniversary of terrorist Burhan Wani, Amarnath Yatra from Jammu has been stopped as a precautionary measure on Monday. Officials said, no batch or passenger vehicle has been allowed to travel towards the valley. However, the administration said that the pilgrims were not leaving Jammu due to the huge crowd of devotees on both the routes of The Amarnath Yatra.

Officials said, more than 6,000 pilgrims are in Jammu after the batch was stopped. Travellers staying at the Yatri Residence are enthusiastic about the journey.

In view of the strike, Amarnath Yatra has been put on hold for Monday as an attempt to prevent untoward incident. Officials said the annual visit to Amarnath will be restored from Tuesday. He said, the decision has been taken in view of the law and order situation in the Valley.
