Dehradun: In a bizarre incident, a groom from Haldwani, Uttarakhand, had to sit in the middle of the road when he went to bring a bride with a marriage procession. Seeing the groom sitting on the road, the marriage party also supported him. In fact, the marriage party and the groom protested due to the bad situation of the road. According to the news, the Haldwani-Kathgodam-Haidakhan road in the Nainital district has been closed for the last month.

During this, Yashpal Arya, Congress leaders, and local people also reached the protest site and demanded the opening of the Kathgodam-Haidakhan-Simlia Band route as soon as possible. Due to this, the vehicles involved in the marriage procession of Rahul Bisht of Kotabagh passing by were also stuck on the poor road.

The groom and the baraatis had to be sent on foot. Angered by this, the groom Rahul also sat in a protest with Yashpal Arya. The bride waited for her groom. But when the marriage procession did not come, the people of the bride's side reached there. When they came to know that the groom's side had sat in a protest due to the bad condition of the roads, the people of the bride's side explained to him. After much persuasion, Rahul left for a marriage procession. Rahul said he did not think, he would face such problems in going to his in-laws' house with friends. The reality in remote areas is contrary to the claims of the administration and local leaders. The general public here is suffering badly. Farmers are not able to transport their fruits and vegetables to the market as the road is closed.
