Mumbai: Online marketing company Amazon has filed an application in Dindoshi court on Tuesday to withdraw the case registered against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray and party leader Akhil Chitre. Amazon had expressed apprehension about attacks on them by MNS, who were demanding marketing companies to give Marathi language options on their own app.

Amazon had filed several civil and criminal cases against MNS in Maharashtra. The Dindoshi court of Mumbai is hearing a civil case filed on behalf of Amazon, where the court issued summons to Raj Thackeray to appear. But Thackeray did not go to court. According to MNS, there have been several rounds of discussions between Amazon and MNS in the last few days. Chitre claimed that Amazon had agreed to withdraw these cases. However, according to Chitre, he cannot disclose the details of the agreement between him and Amazon. In a while, the court is going to hear the application filed by Amazon.

Earlier last month, a meeting was held between Amazon and MNS in Mumbai. His legal team also participated in the meeting that lasted for about 20 minutes.
