Washington: US media quoted Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena as saying last Saturday, November 6, 2021, that at least 8 people were confirmed dead at the Astroworld Festival in Texas. Many more were injured in the huge crowd amid Travis Scott's Friday performance, the Houston Chronicle has said, with the rapper staying on his set several times to ask fans for protection to help him get out of the crowd.

This information was given by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. The shooting took place outside the royal castle banquet hall on Palm Avenue in Sacramento at 12:56 pm local time.

Police in Texas' Texarkana said that 21-year-old suspected shooter Keunte McElroy of Texas' Texarkana carried out the incident on Sunday morning, where it was learnt that McElroy was jailed in a case of dangerous attack and is expected to be charged with additional charges on Monday. Police said, around 200 people were present when the firing took place at a party late on Saturday night. Police said the nine people shot were taken to 2 hospitals for treatment by ambulance, police unit or private vehicle. A 20-year-old man has been declared brought dead in the hospital. But the person has not been identified so far. Police have said that the lives of the other nine are not in much danger. On the other hand, no lawyer has been listed for McElroy in the jail record so far. Before McElroy himself had run some tricks, the police had obtained a warrant for custody for him and were searching for him by contacting his family and friends.
