Washington: The US Ministry of Commerce imposed the ban on TikTok. This order has come into effect from Thursday night. Due to this restriction, this app could not be downloaded in the US. According to information received last month, the Commerce Department cited a prohibition order from a federal judge in Pennsylvania stating that it was not going to enforce an order that would have forced TikTok to close.
The ban was being called pending due to further legal developments after a Philadelphia court gave the judgment in September. The judge then wrote that the Commerce Department had stepped out of its purview to try to ban transit on this platform.
Prior to which the Chinese short-video making app filed a petition in the US Court of Appeals, calling for a review of the action by the Trump Administrations Committee (CFUIS) on foreign investment in the United States.
