Washington: The people of America are celebrating October as 'Hindu Heritage Month.' The leaders of the Hindu community gave information in this regard on Monday (25 October 2021). They have told that more than 20 out of 50 states and more than 40 cities of the country have made many announcements regarding this. This initiative of Hindu organizations in America has been welcomed by elected representatives. They have issued announcements and notifications to recognize the contribution of this minority community in their country.

Actually, Hindus all over the world celebrate their festivals Navratri and Deepawali around the month of October. Therefore, many Hindu organizations based in America have decided to celebrate this month as 'Hindu Heritage Month.' From yoga to food, from celebration to charity, from dance to music, and from non-violence to deep philosophy, these Hindu ways made a positive impact on everyone's life in America, said a media release.' The states of America that have been notified for 'Hindu Heritage Month' include Texas, Ohio, Massachusetts, Virginia, New Jersey, Nevada, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, Delaware, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Missouri, Indiana and Michigan are included.

Troy in Michigan, Irvine in California, Portland in Oregon and Irving and Houston in Texas are some of the cities that recognize October as Hindu Heritage Month. The release further said that the contribution of the ancient Hindu system to American leaders across the country and the active role of Hindus in American society is commendable.
