New Delhi: India is constantly reeling under the second wave of corona epidemic. In such a situation, more and more people need to be vaccinated. But the Serum Institute of India (SII), which is supplying the covishield vaccine in India, was facing problems in supplying raw materials, which is preventing the company from increasing production. Now the US has expressed confidence that it will "immediately" provide raw materials to India. In addition, Russia has also sent help to India through special aircraft to assist.

The current covid epidemic in India is that the corona cases are approaching more than 3 lakh per day and at present active cases are around 2.7 million. US National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan spoke to Indian NSA Ajit Doval on April 25 and expressed assurances for supply of vaccine raw materials. The US has assured India of therapeutics, rapid diagnostics test kits, ventilators, and PPE suit kits.

The U.S. is also considering options to supply vaccines and related equipment without delay. This will help India meet the shortfall in oxygen supply. India is currently facing the problem of oxygen shortage, and every day there are SoS calls for oxygen shortage from one hospital or the other. Thousands of patients suffering from corona and other diseases are left in limbo due to this problem.
