Washington: The US has banned the travel of non-Americans from India. The US government has banned the entry of all non-Americans who have been in India within the last 14 days from India, which is facing a serious crisis in the corona epidemic. The restrictions have come into effect from today. This has been done due to the havoc of covid-19 in India.

However, the order will provide concessions to US citizens, green card holders, and their non-American spouses and children. In addition, students, academicians, and journalists will also be exempted in some categories. The travel ban has been implemented indefinitely and can be eliminated only from the president's next manifesto in this regard. That is, the ban will continue until the next order of the US President. The decision has been taken on the advice of The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) under the Department of Health and Human Services.

In an order issued on April 26, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that students who have valid F-1 and M-1 visas but their classes are due to start on or after August 1, do not yet need to get a discount for travel. They can enter the US within 30 days of the commencement of classes. Students can visit a nearby embassy or consulate to see the status of their visas.
