Washington: Recently, scientists at the US Space Agency NASA have detected patterns of global air circulation in the atmosphere 120 to 300 kilometers above the surface of Mars. A team including researchers from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in the US used NASA's Maven (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) spacecraft to record air measurements on the red planet. Natural gas and ion mass spectrometer (NGIMS) devices were used in Maven spacecraft. This device is outside the spacecraft and keeps swinging back and forth.

Amazing work of engineering: It can be found about the winds running on the surface of Mars. The study, published in the Science Journal, used only 2 days of data each month between 2016 and 2018. Mehdi Bena, working at NASA's Goddard Flight Center and co-author of the study, said how to operate the spacecraft and its equipment is also clever engineering. By doing something like this, scientists made the measurement of air possible with the spacecraft and equipment which were not meant for this work.

Matching the pattern of wind: The researchers matched the pattern of wind found in the upper atmosphere of Mars with the prediction made from theoretical models. It has been said that the average circulation pattern of air on Mars is very stable. However, the variability of air for some time exceeds the estimate. The researchers said that more work needs to be done in this area.
