Washington- Colin Powell, the first US black foreign minister, has died at the age of 84 after being hit by a corona infection. He had taken both doses of the corona vaccine. Powell, the child of Jamaican migrant parents, was appointed foreign minister by then-President George W. Bush in 2001. During his stay as Foreign Minister, he emerged as a great advocate of the attack on Iraq.

His family had said on Facebook that the first black US secretary of state, whose leadership in many Republican administrations helped shape U.S. foreign policy in the late 20th century and early 21st century years. His family has said that we have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American. During the Gulf War in 1991, he was the Joint Chief of Staff of the US Army as the four-star General.

At that time, Bush's father, George H.W. Bush was the President of the United States. Powell described the then President of Iraq Saddam Hussein as a threat to the world at the United Nations in 2003. The US then invaded Iraq and overthrew Saddam Hussein's power. Later, his evidence against Saddam Hussein was not found to be correct, which had greatly dented his image.
