This year two Bollywood  Big Budget movies Rakshabandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha have failed to win the Box office battle. Vijay Deverakonda starrer  Liger has also performed very badly in theatre. Meanwhile, Karthikeya 2 is winning the hearts of people.

According to a Box Office, Karthikeya 2 has made 71 crores (Telugu and Hindi) in 16 days in India. The film witnessed terrific growth during the weekend with the numbers from Friday to Saturday jumping by over 100%. It’s clear that there’s still a lot of distance that will be covered and one can only see an outside chance of hitting the 100 crore mark, especially considering little to no competition in the Hindi market with Liger not performing up to the mark.

 A Trade analyst also twitted about the film and wrote, "#Karthikeya2 stays strong, despite new release [#Liger]... Mass circuits dominate, attracting footfalls... [Week 3] Fri 82 lacs. Total: ₹ 20.11 cr. #India biz. Note: #Hindi version."

The RRR actor Ram Charan showered love and praise on Anupam Kher, Nikhil Siddhartha and the entire team of Karthikeya 2. Taking to his Twitter, he wrote, "Good films always bring back glory to theatres! Congratulations to the entire team on the massive success of #karthikeya2 @AnupamPkher @actor_Nikhil @anupamahere @chandoomondeti @AAArtsOfficial @AbhishekOfficl @peoplemediafcy (sic)." 

Speaking of Karthikeya 2 is a sequel to Mondeti's 2014 film Karthikeya. The film, featuring actor Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead, is a mystery thriller about a search for secrets buried beneath the sea near Dwaraka. Nikhil, Anupama, and actor Srinivas Reddy are on a mission to uncover a mystery, with their journey taking them across the soaring sea. The film also stars Anupam Kher.
