New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has stressed the need to monitor the population change taking place in the border areas of the states along the international border. Addressing the National Security Strategy (NSS) Conference, 2022, the Home Minister has given this alert on Thursday. He said that it is the responsibility of the Director Generals of Police (DGPs) to acquire all kinds of technical and strategic information in their state, especially in the border districts.

Top officers of the country's police forces are attending the conference. At this conference, Amit Shah said that DGPs of border states should keep an eye on the demographic changes taking place in the border areas. Home Minister Amit Shah further said that PM Narendra Modi has not only stressed the internal security of the country since 2014 but has also empowered the mechanism to face the challenges.

The Home Minister has further said that states should give top priority to issues related to national security. Shah said the government has made major successes in terms of internal security, including terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and dealing with militant groups in the North-East. He said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the Center has implemented many such schemes which have increased communication with the states. At the same time, the budgetary allocation has been increased and emphasis has been laid on maximum use of technology.

The BSF also expressed concern:

Let us know that the Muslim population is increasing very fast near India's border with Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Concerns have been expressed by intelligence agencies and the Border Security Force (BSF). After studying the latest data of gram panchayats, the police of Uttar Pradesh and Assam have also sent their reports to the Union Home Ministry. These describe the demographic change that has taken place in this area in 10 years. At the same time, it has been recommended by the intelligence agencies to increase the jurisdiction of BSF to 100 km in relation.

Due to the increasing Muslim population in the border areas of the country, the risk of infiltration in these areas is also expected to increase. According to the report, the population of Muslims in the border areas has registered a 32 per cent increase since 2011. While the figure of population change in the country has been up to 15 per cent during this period. Intelligence and security agencies have termed the increase in population in the border areas as "very worrisome". Let us know that some documents have been found in the terrorist module of PFI caught from Bihar, in which there is a mention of the conspiracy to make India an Islamic nation by 2047. In such a situation, this increasing population on the border areas will prove to be a big threat to the security of the country.
