Ahmednagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered prayers at Shirdi's Sai Baba temple on Saturday. Shah, who arrived in Maharashtra today for a two-day visit, earlier attended the Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Literary Award distribution ceremony and the Cooperation Council Conference in Ahmednagar.

Speaking on the occasion, he assured the Cooperative movement's workers of the Centre's full support. "We must rid the cooperative movement of flaws. There was a time when Maharashtra's district cooperative banks were respected, but there are now only three left. How did scams involving millions of dollars take place? Did the RBI do it? No, the RBI did not do it "He expressed.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. He said that no one had considered forming a cooperative ministry prior to the country's 75th anniversary of independence. Narendra Modi established this ministry during the nectar festival of independence because he recognises the importance of cooperatives in today's world, and the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas can only be realised through cooperatives.

Meanwhile, on December 19, Sunday, the Union Minister is set to attend a number of public events in Pune. He will also attend a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pune city workers conference.
