Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Monday (October 3). He reached Jammu on Monday night. He was accorded a grand welcome by Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha here. Today, Amit Shah offered prayers at the world-famous Vaishno Devi temple and sought the blessings of Matarani. After the puja, Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for different projects in Jammu. He will then address a public meeting in Rajouri. Many development projects will be started here.
It is being told that Amit Shah can announce the status of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) to the Hill Community. Rajouri, Handwara, Poonch and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir have a sizeable population of hills. On October 5, Amit Shah will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting to be held at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. Will also meet separate delegations in Srinagar and Baramulla. Amit Shah will reach Srinagar on the evening of October 4. Will meet many BJP leaders here. In Srinagar, Shah will attend a high-level meeting with LG Manoj Sinha. The meeting will be attended by senior officers of police, CRPF and intelligence agencies of Jammu and Kashmir and the Centre.
This is Shah's second visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, while this is his first visit to Jammu. Earlier in October 2021, he visited Kashmir. Amit Shah's visit to Jammu was scheduled for September 30, but the schedule changed.
