New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to launch the 'Vibrant Villages Programme' in Kibithoo, a border village in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday,  April 10.

The Government of India has approved the Vibrant Villages Programme' with central components totaling Rs 4,800 crore, including Rs 2,500 crore specifically for road connectivity for the Financial Years 2022-23 to 2025-26. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in charge of this project.

The Vibrant Villages Programme is a federally funded programme that has identified 2,967 villages for comprehensive development in 46 blocks of 19 districts along the northern border in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, as well as the Union Territory of Ladakh. 662 villages, including 455 in Arunachal Pradesh, have been taken for priority coverage in the first phase.

The Vibrant Villages Programme will aid in raising the standard of living for those residing in designated border villages and motivating them to remain there, reversing the outmigration from these communities and enhancing border security.

Action Plans will be prepared for the identified village by the district administration with assistance from the proper mechanisms at the block and panchayat levels in order to guarantee complete saturation of federal and state programmes.

Road connections, drinking water, power, including solar and wind energy, mobile and internet access, tourist attractions, multipurpose facilities, healthcare infrastructure, and wellness centres have been selected as the focal areas of interventions for the development of communities.

On April 10, the Home Minister will also officially open nine Micro Hydel Projects in Kibithoo that the Arunachal Pradesh government built as part of the "Golden Jubilee Border Lighting Plan."

People living in border villages will gain power as a result of these electricity installations. Also, he will dedicate projects for the improvement of infrastructure at Likabali (Arunachal Pradesh), Chapra (Bihar), Nooranad (Kerala), and Vishakapatnam by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) (Andhra Pradesh).
