Amritsar: Replying to a question on punjab assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that we are positive about it. We are also in talks with Captain Saheb. At the same time, we are also talking to the Shiromani Akali Dal (Shi'ad). We may have an alliance. The Home Minister said that punjab elections will be fought on the issue of development, which will perform better and will win the elections. He said that as far as the farmers' movement is concerned, PM Modi has with a big heart scrapped all the three agricultural laws and asked them to end the agitation.

It may be recalled that the proposed Punjab Assembly elections next year have become very interesting. Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh has formed his party after leaving the Congress. Now there are strong indications that the Captain's party may form an alliance with the BJP. However, the captain is yet to fully reveal his plan. He is currently engaged in strengthening his party. Political experts believe that if there is an alliance between Captain Amarinder Singh and the BJP, the Congress could suffer a lot.

In Punjab, BJP General Secretary Dushyant Gautam has said that bjp is working on contesting all the 117 seats in Punjab. He said the captain will decide whether Amarinder Singh's party will form an alliance with the Punjab Lok Congress. Amarinder Singh's party also wants to form an alliance with parties with similar legislation. So far, three agricultural laws were becoming a hurdle between the BJP and the Captain. But now that the Central Government has withdrawn all the three agricultural laws, the way for alliance has been opened for both.
