Srinagar: A high-level meeting is being held in the Home Ministry on the security situation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The state has been rocked by the "target killing" of 7 innocent civilians in a week from Delhi to Srinagar. When Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met Home Minister Amit Shah, the Home Ministry has sent top experts from the country's security agencies to Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has also heated up over these killings. PDP chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that the situation in the Valley has gone from bad to worse, but she knows that the Centre will continue to use its strength instead of finding a solution to the problem so that it can be exploited in the elections. This is the case with the UP elections. The Centre has sent top counter-terrorism experts from the country's main agencies to Srinagar to coordinate with the Jammu and Kashmir police and locate those responsible for the killings.

LG Manoj Sinha is holding a meeting with Centre officials including Home Minister Shah in Delhi. Its draft is to brainstorm on the trend of targeted violence. Let me tell you that Amit Shah had a meeting with NSA Ajit Doval and BSF and CRPF Chief along with top officials of his ministry on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
