Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Modi government adopted the policy of zero tolerance on Left Wing Extremism and has achieved great success. For the first time in the last 4 decades, the number of deaths of civilians and security forces in 2022 has come down to less than 100. He has said that there are 3 main pillars of the Modi government in the anti-Naxal campaign- crackdown on extremist violence with firmness, better coordination between the Center and the State, and ending support to Left Wing Extremism through people's participation through development. He is also chairing the meeting of the Home Ministry's Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Left Wing Extremism in New Delhi.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that violence and leftist extremist ideas have no place in the 'self-reliant and new India' under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our government has adopted the policy of zero tolerance in this direction. The Modi Government has also made several successful efforts to improve coordination with the Left Wing Extremism affected states without any party and ideology discrimination. Our three-pronged strategy has given historic success in curbing Left Wing Extremism in the last 8 years.

Home Minister Amit Shah has said that violent incidents related to Left Wing Extremism have come down by 76% in 2022 from the high level of 2010. The number of civilians and security personnel who lost their lives in Left Wing Extremism incidents has decreased by 90% from the highest level of 1005 in 2010 to 98 in 2022, and the number of Left Wing Extremism affected districts has decreased from 90 to 45. From the year 2019 till now, the security forces have achieved great success in breaking the backbone of Left Wing Extremism by setting up 175 new camps in Left Wing Extremism affected areas, reducing the security vacuum, and neutralizing the top leadership.
