Dehradun: Police have detained youth Congress workers protesting against Union Home Minister Amit Shah's arrival in Dehradun with black flags. Union Home and Cooperation Minister and former BJP National President Amit Shah arrived in Uttarakhand on Saturday. Shah addressed a public meeting in Dehradun and also launched the State Government's Ghasiari Kalyan Scheme. As a result, youth Congress workers and members of the NSUI Students' Association protested and also protested Shah's arrival in Doon with black flags.

They also raised slogans against the BJP government and the Centre in the state. This also led to a heated clash between the police and the protesters. After which the protesting activists were arrested by the police. Amit Shah has arrived in Uttarakhand to launch the BJP's election campaign. Shah also launched the Ghasiari Welfare Scheme of the State Government here. After which Shah started his address.

He was received at the airport by senior leaders including CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
