Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha’s love story’s tragedy still keep its existence alive. The couple which first time met at the set of Do Anjaane (1976) further increased their closeness via secret meetings in a bungalow that belonged to Rekha's friend as Big B was married during the first meet. But the secrets always have an end and in such a plan of destiny, Amitabh got angry at a co-actor as he misbehaved with Rekha. This incident highlighted their relationship’s truth but they rubbished all such rumors.

The news caught up fires when the actress attended Rishi Kapoor’s and Neetu Singh’s wedding a dramatic married look which confirmed the anticipations that claim the rumored couple has tied knot secretly.

This sensational entry at the marriage motivated Jaya to invite Rekha on dinner where Big B’s wife viewed to never ever leave him any of the condition. After this incident, a girlfriend has moved out without creating havoc in the life of a married couple.

In an interview for Filmfare Magazine, Rekha maturely answered “Why should he have not done it? He did it to protect his image, his family, his children. Why should the public know of my love for him or his love for me? I love him and he loves me- that’s it! If he’d reacted that ways towards me in private, I would have been very disappointed.”

But further statement showed her love for Amitabh as she stated “ Mr. Bachchan is still old-fashioned. He doesn’t want to hurt anybody, so why hurt his wife?”

Where Rekha openly accepted the claims contrarily his boyfriend despite excess love never nodded to the speculations publicly. Their love externally ended with the shoot of Silsila but internally the love never banished.  

But Yash Chopra, the director of their last film altogether confirmed their relationship while saying: “I was always on tenterhooks and scared (during Silsila) because it was real life coming into reel life. Jaya is his wife and Rekha is his girlfriend and the same story is going on (in real life). Anything could have happened because they are working together”

Even after the separation Rekha while paving ways to the controversies regularly witnessed with Sindoor on her forehead for which she stated fashion and her community’s tradition. “In the city, I come from, it's fashionable to wear sindoor,” she said. In one of another interview in 2008, she expressed that “I don’t worry about people’s reactions. By the way, I think it looks rather nice on me.. sindoor suits me.”

Later, with the decision of moving out from the unsuccessful relationship Rekha departed from the old relationship and married to Mukesh Agarwal but within a week which the married couple spent in London, Rekha came to know that her husband was also a victim fate and have a Big B in his life too.

In three month Rekha came to know that Mukesh is a mental patient and eventually she cut all her connection with husband and left his home. After seven months of the marriage Mukesh hanged himself to death for which Rekha received the tags of ‘Vamp’ via media and surprisingly from the member of the film industry.

In 2008 when the unlucky woman was asked that does she wants people to not connect her with Amitabh she furiously replied “Why? I hope not. Mr. Bachchan is one of the best things to have happened in my life. The best teacher, the best guru. Well, I’ve chosen to learn as much from his off-camera.. as from his on-camera demeanors.”

On the other hand after Silsila Amitabh totally ignored Rekha but it should be remembered in this case that wounds can be cured but scars never disappeared and keep you remember the things that we never want to face.
