Amitabh Bachchan, a megastar, revealed on Sunday that he recently had to be rushed to the hospital after cutting a vein in his left calf. The 80-year-old movie legend announced the development on his official blog and stated that stitches had been used to stop the bleeding.

"A jutting piece of metal sliced my left calf and managed to cut the vein. the vein when cut spurts out the'red' uncontrollably. but had the nerve to get the doctor and so into an OT and the stitching up.. with the help of a team of staff and doctors in time.," Bachchan wrote.

The actor had posted pictures of himself running with a bandage on his left leg from the "Kaun Banega Crorepati" sets on Saturday. He had captioned the picture, "Running striding jogging on to work. into that horizon of loud cheers and love. and your PRAYERS."

In terms of movies, Bachchan has so far appeared in four of them in 2022: "Jhund," "Runway 34," "Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva," and "Goodbye." His subsequent appearance will be in the November 11 film "Uunchai" by Sooraj Barjatya. Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Parineeti Chopra, Danny Dengzongpa, and Boman Irani are also featured in the film.
