MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan, the megastar who suffered an injury while filming an action scene for his upcoming film "Project K" in Hyderabad, thanked his supporters for their well wishes and prayers on Tuesday.
In his blog post on Sunday, the 80-year-old Hollywood icon had stated that his "rib cartilage popped broke" and there is a "muscle tear to the right rib cage".
Bachchan posted on Twitter, "Gratitude and love forever... for your concern and wishes... your prayers are the treatment... I rest and improve with your prayers".
Bachchan had claimed that the physician at a Hyderabad-based hospital where he received a CT scan had urged him to rest before taking a flight back to Mumbai.
The actor, whose most recent theatrical movie was the 2022 smash "Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva," said he is in discomfort but "a bit mobility for all the vital activities" in the same tweet.
Indeed, it is difficult when moving and breathing. It will take a few weeks before things start to normalise. Some pain medication is also used. He stated that Bachchan's involvement in other projects as well as the filming of Nag Ashwin's "Project K" have been put on hold. The movie, which also stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, will be released on January 12, 2024.
Bachchan also had to cancel his Sunday meet-and-greet with admirers gathered outside his Juhu house Jalsa due to the injury.
