Amritsar: Several senior leaders including CM Amarinder Singh and former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu have been summoned to Delhi for a meeting on June 20 to resolve the ongoing infighting in the Punjab Congress. Congress working president Sonia Gandhi is said to be trying to end the ongoing rift between the two leaders.
Former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has consistently launched a front against CM Captain Amarinder Singh ahead of next year's assembly elections in Punjab. Navjot Singh Sidhu is said to have refused to serve as deputy chief minister under the captain. Navjot Sidhu is still apprehensive about working with Captain Amarinder Singh.
Navjot Singh Sidhu had also told a three-member panel of the Congress high command in the past that even if he takes up the post, he will not be able to feel comfortable. According to party sources, Sidhu made it clear to the committee that the CM had no connection with the people, MLAs, party leaders.
