Cairo: An Egyptian court on Sunday (July 24, 2022) issued a decree to show live the death sentence of the murderer of student Naira Ashraf to prevent brutal killings. The Mansoura Criminal Court has asked parliament to make legal amendments to allow a live telecast of the murderer's hanging. Mohammed Adel was found guilty of the planned murder of Naira Ashraf, a student of Mansoura University, last month (June 20, 2022).  

Adil had also confessed to his crime on June 26. He had said that he was hurt when Naira Ashraf refused to get married. On June 20, when Naira was about to enter Mansoura University to give the final exam. At the same time, Adil stabbed Naira 19 times in broad daylight and then cut off her head and killed her. The murderer claimed in the court that he had brought a knife on the day of the incident in his defence, but when the student humiliated him, he attacked her without thinking about anything. The court sentenced Mohammed Adel to death on June 28. The court in its order said that live punishment will increase panic among those who commit such crimes.

The court said they have ascertained the mental, and psychological condition, likes and dislikes of the convict before and after the murder. At the same time, the court, through the plan of the murderer's crime, the weapon used to commit the murder and the date and place decided by him, found out what nature he was off. The murder captured on CCTV cameras has shaken the whole of Egypt and the Middle East. A while ago, a video went viral on social media, showing Adel stabbing a student outside a university.
