Anandiben Patel meets Mayawati, offers condolences on her mother's demise

Uttar Pradesh: On Thursday (November 18), Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel paid a visit to Bahujan Samaj party (BSP)  president Mayawati's home in Lucknow and expressed her condolences on the tragic loss of the former chief minister's mother.

Patel also laid floral tributes to a mural depicting Ramrati, the Dalit leader's late mother. Ramrati, the mother of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, died in the union capital on Saturday after suffering a heart attack. She was 92 years old at the time. Prabhu Dayal, Mayawati's father, died on November 19 last year at the age of 95.

"On the demise of Mayawati's mother, Governor Anandiben Patel met her at her Lucknow residence and expressed condolences," Bahujan Samaj Partygeneral secretary Satish Chandra Misra stated in a tweet.

Prabhudayal, Mayawati's father, died at the age of 95 about a year ago.
