Indian Football Team star player Anas Edathodika, announced his retirement at age of 30. In his four year career with the national team, he embedded a mark in his fellow teammates in the camp that shows at the time of his retirement announcement, where teammates showcase brotherhood toward Anas Edathodika.

The defender announced his retirement on Tuesday and has left touching moments and fond memories. To praised his performance Indian star striker Sunil Chhetri said that “Anas was brilliant playing for the country. He did not have a very long stint but definitely a very significant one”

Further, he added that “Anas courage, determinations and will to do well for the country is second to none and we will definitely be going to miss him and the personality.”

On his retirement Anas state that, “it took him 11 years to select into the national team and playing for the national team is the biggest achievement in his career. Although his journey was short, each and every time he tried to give more than 100 per cent for the team and he was very disappointed to pick up an injury in the opening minutes of the Behrin match that was last played by him and it will hurt him forever.”

Anas announced his international retirement after India’s campaign in the AFC Asian Cup ended. He played his last international match against Bahrain in the Asian Cup, that Indian lost by 0-1.
