Chittoor: The case of suicide by a topper student in Andhra Pradesh is getting pace, as the name of the leader associated with the ruling party has come to the fore in this case. Following the suicide of a class 10 topper in Palamaner, a small town in the state's Chittoor district, the school principal was suspended yesterday and arrested today on Friday. Misbah Fatima, daughter of a soda seller, studied at Brahmarshi High School in Gangavaram.
After the daughter's suicide, the girl's family members alleged that the school principal's misbehaviour forced her to take this step. Principal Ramesh had given Misbah the Forced Transfer Certificate (TC) a few days before the end of the academic year. However, Ramesh was arrested by the Palamaner police on Friday and a case has been registered against him under sections 306 and 506 of the IPC. Earlier on Thursday, he was also suspended from the school. According to media reports, there has been a ruckus regarding the suicide note of the student.
In fact, Misbah has written in her suicide note that the father of a friend of her class was pressurizing the school management to sack her so that her daughter becomes the topper in the class. Misbah's family has alleged that the police is adopting a lax attitude against the father of the accused and classmate, as he is also the leader of the ruling party. Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former CM Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh has blamed the YSRCP leader for the girl's suicide. He has alleged that the deceased Misbah had secured higher marks than the YSRCP leader's daughter and hence she was harassed and decided to commit suicide due to threats from the principal of the school.
