Nellore: A man committed suicide by poisoning his mother and daughter in Modugulapalem village of Doravari Satra Mandal of Nellore district. Going into details, due to family discord, Marlapaka Murali (40) poisoned her mother Mastanamma (60) and daughter Kavyashree (11) and consumed the poison herself. Mastanamma died first. Locals immediately shifted Murali and Kavyashree to Sullurupeta Government Hospital.

Murali died during treatment. Kavyashree was taken to the government hospital in Nellore in a critical condition. After getting the information, the police reached the spot and investigated. Police are probing the cause of suicide. A similar tragic incident took place at the holy shrine of Srisailam where a couple committed suicide at the Neelam Sanjeevareddy residence. The couple from Macherla in Guntur district had come to visit Srisailam Mallikarjuna temple.

On Thursday morning, the couple tried to commit suicide by consuming insecticide. The hostel staff noticed this and immediately rushed them to the hospital. However, his condition deteriorated and he was shifted to Sunnipenta Government Hospital. The couple died on the way to Sunnipenta Government Hospital. Srisailam Police has registered a case in connection with the incident and is investigating. Full details about the couple's suicide are not yet available.
