Visakhapatnam: In Andhra Pradesh, a young man publicly attacked a girl with a knife in front of her friends and killed her. The incident has come to an awareness of the incident from Penumaru in Chittoor district on Tuesday. According to police, the accused Dilip Babu and victim Gayatri had a love affair and fled home in December. After the police consultation, both the parents had brought them home.
Gayatri is said to have been ignoring Dilip Babu after the case. Gayatri was going somewhere on Tuesday with her friends. In the meantime, Dilip Babu arrived and started talking to Gayatri. In the meantime, Dilip stabbed Gayatri with a knife. Locals transported the victim to Vellore District Hospital in the injured state, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Many villagers, angered by the killing, stormed Dilip Babu's house. The police has registered a case under the Nirbhaya Act and the search for the accused is continuing.
