Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) : Doctors in a private hospital in Guntur underwent a rare brain surgery. This complex surgery was done about 10 days ago by Dr. Bhavhana Srinivasa Reddy, Dr. Seshadri Sekar (Neurosurgeon) and Dr. Trinad (Anesthesiologist). The special thing is that the patient is awake during this surgery. In this process he showed a television show. Dr Srinivasa Reddy, head of the doctor's team who had completely recovered and discharged the patient, shared details with the media on Saturday.
In 2016, Varprasad (35) of Patibandhla village in Pedakurpadu area underwent brain tumor surgery in Hyderabad. The tumor was removed by doctors. Radiotherapy was also taken on the advice of doctors. However, Prasad has not been able to recover completely from the illness as he has been suffering from fits for the past few months.
After seeing his condition, Dr. Srinivasa Reddy's team decided for micro-level brain surgery to remove recurrent glioma in the left premotor area that leaves the motor cortex. "We decided to wake the patient up and undergo surgery because we used advanced navigation technology to detect the tumor. During the surgery, the patient enjoyed watching the Big Boss and Avatar film," says Reddy. Interestingly, three doctors who had performed the surgery were working at the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur.
However, the surgery was done in a private hospital where they had new and modern equipment to perform critical and sensitive surgeries. Srinivasa Reddy has previously woken up patients and underwent surgeries by showing the picture of the patient Bahubali.
