Visakhapatnam:  A 74-year-old woman gave birth to twins in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.  74-year-old Erramatti Mangamma was married to Erramati Raja Rao on 22 March 1962. Raja Rao and Mangamma, residents of Nellapartipadu village in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district, wanted a child, but they were not fortunate in this regard. For this, they went to many doctors, hospitals, but he did not get success.

After this, in November 2018, he reached the Ahalya Nursing Home in Guntur, where Dr. Shanakyala Umashankar accepted this challenging case. Dr. Shanakyala Umashankar told the press that 'this woman has no history of diseases like BP, sugar and her genetic line is also very good. After intensive examination with cardiologists, pulmonologists and other special doctors, we decided to move forward. The doctor said that 'the woman had attained the stage of menopause long ago, but through IVF (in vitro fertilization) we brought back her periods in just one month'.

In response to the question of why parents wanted to be at this age, Raja Rao told the press that, "Due to not having children, we faced a lot of social stigma in our village. We have been taunting since our marriage. We could not bear it, so we tried our best, but now we hope that God will bless us. " Let us tell you that this is probably the first case of India where a woman became a mother at the age of 74.
