Andhra Pradesh: Order to suspend Bukkapatnam deputy registrar Venkata Narayan

A series of raids across the state by Stamp and Registration officers identified sub-registrar offices where irregularities occurred on a large scale. According to senior officials of the Stamp and Registration Department, some employees of the sub-registrar offices had cheated money by making fake challans. Angered by these irregularities, DIG Madhavi, Stamp and Registration Department has issued an order to suspend Bukapatnam Deputy Registrar Venkata Narayan.

Venkat Narayan had registered the amount of 1.92 lakh challans without reaching the treasury. DIG Madhavi has started a comprehensive inquiry into the irregularities in the sub-registrars. Anantapur Rural Deputy Registrar Suresh Acharya has already been suspended. Investigation revealed that Suresh Acharya had got 1000 illegal registrations done in 9 months.

A team led by Anantapur District Registrar Hari Verma has started investigating the irregularities of Suresh Acharya. It was found that 999 illegal documents were registered during the last nine months. Of these, 830 are for allotted land, 165 for government land and four for endowment land. It is alleged that the Deputy Registrar had received crores of rupees for resorting to irregularities.
