AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government distributed Rs 708 crore in fee reimbursement to 10.82 lakh students as part of its flagship scheme Jagananna Vidya Deevena on Wednesday.

Beneficiaries' bank accounts were credited with the amount for fee reimbursement for the October - December 2021 quarter.

The money was delivered by Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who stressed that poverty should not be an impediment to seeking higher education. In addition, the government had chosen to provide regular payments on a quarterly basis.

The only way to eradicate poverty is through education. When a youngster in a village receives an education, the entire village benefits. Furthermore, the state government is working to reduce college dropouts throughout the state. "Debt settlement can make a significant impact in the completion of a course/education," he stated.

The complete fee refund would be directly deposited to the accounts of the students' moms under the government's flagship Jagananna Vidya Deevena. During his padaytra, Jagan Mohan Reddy recalled an incident in which a father described how his son committed suicide because the fees could not be paid.

According to the Chief Minister, full fee reimbursement was implemented to make education more accessible to the disadvantaged, particularly to achieve their desire of pursuing higher education without burdening their families.
