Visakhapatnam: Hindu devotees were stunned to see a video of Christian sermons on the LED screen installed at Kanak Durga Temple during Navratri celebrations in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.  In fact, thousands of Hindus had reached the venue to witness the Navratri celebrations at that time, but on the very first day of Navratri on the LED screen, they were outraged to see the Christian preacher and started pelting stones on the screen.

In such a situation, BJP spokesperson SG Surya has tweeted saying that angry devotees have broken the LED screen. He has also demanded strict action against the perpetrators of this case. He has written that during the live telecast of the Navratri festival on the LED screen installed in the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada, angry Hindus broke the LED by pelting stones at the Christian preacher on the screen. Surya cast doubt on the local people saying that it appeared to be the handiwork of a local cable operator, who was entrusted with the task. At the same time, allegedly, the Kanaka Durga temple authorities, like every year, this time too, had tied up the local cable operator to show Navratri celebrations on LED scales on the walls of the temple premises.

According to the information received, Andhra Pradesh police have now registered a case in the case and district collector J Niwas says it is an unfortunate case and has been negligent. He has also said that we are investigating it, a case has been registered under Section 295 1A of the IPC and it can be changed as the investigation goes ahead. He further said that we cannot say whether it is a conspiracy or something else till the investigation is completed.
