It has been said that it steals the password. This threatens the privacy of Android users. Due to this malware, financial fraud can be done with users. This malware is not new. This is an upgraded version of the Banking Trojan found in the year 2021. It has become active again.
This is what Cyble Research Labs reported. According to the report, ermac 2.0, the upgraded version of ERMAC, has targeted 467 applications. These applications were targeted for credential theft. ERMAC 2.0 malware is too much for Android phones. As soon as a user knowingly or unknowingly installs it through a fraud app, he or she is asked for 43 types of permissions.
If these permissions are given by the users, then the entire control of the user's device can reach the fraudster. Let us tell you that most of the users grant these permissions after the app is downloaded. This includes SMS access, contact access, system alert window creation, audio recording, full storage read, as well as writing on the device.
