New Delhi: Legendary tennis player Andy Murray has won the European Open title with a brilliant performance. The former world number one player achieved this position by defeating three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka. Murray, who was away from tennis because of Kulha's operation, won his 46th title. In the final, Murray defeated Wawrinka 6-3, 4-6, 4-6 to capture the title. Former champion Murray won a singles title almost two years after 2017.

The 32-year-old British player reached the final for the 30th time in his career. Murray became emotional after winning the match that lasted two hours and 27 minutes. He has also benefited from this victory. Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray jumped 116 places to 127th in the ATP rankings. Murray's ranking at the end of September was 503, which he has improved to 376 in three weeks. Novak Djokovic holds the top spot, Rafael Nadal in second and Roger Federer in third place. The only change has been in the top ten. Japan's Kei Nishikori has moved up one place to number ninth.
