New Delhi: Chairman of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), Anil Ambani on Monday thanked elder brother Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani following the complete payment of dues of Rs 550 crore to Ericsson.

Anil Ambani-led telecom firm Reliance Communications (RCom) has paid Rs 462 crore to the Swedish telecom equipment gear manufacturer Ericsson within in deadline. With the payment of Rs 462 crore, RCom has cleared the complete payment of Rs 550 crore, including interest and penalty charges.

On getting this bag help Anil Ambani thanked his elder brother Mukesh Ambani. In a statement through RCom's spokesperson he said,  “My sincere and heartfelt thanks to my respected elder brother, Mukesh, and Nita, for standing by me during these trying times, and demonstrating the importance of staying true to our strong family values by extending this timely support. I and my family are grateful we have moved beyond the past, and are deeply touched with this gesture,”

Earlier, SC held Anil Ambani guilty in contempt of court, observing a wilful default, for not clearing the dues to Ericsson and the apex court has said if RCom fails to pay the dues to Ericsson within four weeks then RCom Chairman Anil Ambani and Chairpersons of Reliance Infratel and Reliance Telecom will have to serve a jail term.
