Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's troubles in the money laundering case are mounting. In fact, last Friday alone, a Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Mumbai issued a notice against Anil Deshmukh in a money laundering case. He has also directed him to appear before the court by November 16.

The ED had approached the court against Anil Deshmukh saying that he did not appear before the agency despite the summons. ED had told the court that Deshmukh had been summoned on four different occasions since June but failed to appear citing various terrains. Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is under the scanner of ED in the money laundering case. ED has registered a case against him in the recovery case of about Rs 100 crore and is investigating the case.

So far, ED has summoned Anil Deshmukh several times for questioning for which summons have been issued to him but he has not come. On the other hand, his lawyers have reached the ED office in this regard and explained the reasons for his non-appearance. Anil Deshmukh had also moved the Mumbai High Court against the summons issued by the ED. You must be aware that the central agency investigating the money laundering case has arrested Anil Deshmukh's PA Kundan Shinde and PS Sanjeev Palande.
