Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been arrested and since then there has been a stir in Maharashtra politics. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar last Wednesday warned the BJP to pay a hefty price. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has also launched a verbal attack on the BJP and supported Sharad Pawar's statement.
According to a well-known website, Sanjay Raut has said, "Our people are either sent to jail on the basis of false allegations and false evidence or tortured by central agencies. We were one of them but we said we would not be afraid. They have to pay for all this. I support what Pawar said''.
What Sharad Pawar had said- Last Wednesday Sharad Pawar said, "The former Mumbai Police Commissioner is now absconding after false allegations against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. They themselves are not coming forward to prove those allegations. BJP has put Anil Deshmukh in jail. In that case, whatever the BJP has done now, they will have to pay the price''.
Pawar is said to have made the statement while addressing NCP workers in Nagpur. He said that Former Maharashtra Home Minister Deshmukh was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case recently. He has been remanded in judicial custody in court after being in ED custody for several days.
