Anil Deshmukh, the former Maharashtra home minister, has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the Special Central Bureau of Investigation court's order to detain him, with the hearing scheduled for Wednesday.

The CBI had previously registered a money laundering case against Anil Deshmukh, and on Monday, they arrived at the Arthur Road jail to take him into custody, when they were informed that Deshmukh had been admitted to the JJ Hospital due to a shoulder injury.

The former home minister has now filed a petition in the Bombay High Court opposing CBI custody, which was denied by the bench of Justice Revati Mahiti Dere. She further requested that the petition be heard by a different bench.

Deshmukh's lawyer will submit a petition with Justice Prakash Naik's bench on Wednesday afternoon, requesting a hearing.  The CBI is holding fired police officials Sachin Waze, Sanjeev Palande, and Kundan Shinde till April 11.

An extortion case has been filed against Anil Deshmukh, Sachin Vaze, Sanjeev Palande, and Kundan Shinde by the CBI.
