New Delhi: Social activist Anna Hazare has also come down in support of the agitating farmers against the agricultural law brought by the Central Government. He has warned the Central Government that if the demands of the farmers are not met, he will go on a hunger strike. In a letter to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar, Anna Hazare said that he would sit on a fast against the central government for not accepting the demands of the farmers and not implementing the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.

Anna Hazare has demanded autonomy to CAPC. In February last year, Anna Hazare was sitting on fast in his village Ralegan Siddhi in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. He ended his fast on February 5, 2019, following the written assurance of Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh. Singh had written a written assurance to discuss the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission with high power committees.

Hazare has also attached to this letter the letter of Radha Mohan Singh in which Singh had assured that a high-level committee will be prepared and its report will be submitted by October 30, 2019.
