Bhopal: Anna Utsav is scheduled to be celebrated in Madhya Pradesh today (August 7th). Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact virtually with the beneficiaries at 11 am today. In fact, this program is going to be held under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and the objective is to create awareness about the scheme so that no eligible person is left out. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also be present on the occasion today.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office recently stated that "Madhya Pradesh will celebrate 7th August 2021 as Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana Diwas." Under PMGKAY, ''in Madhya Pradesh, 4.83 crore beneficiaries are getting free ration from more than 25,000 fair price shops. Ministers and officials from the food sector stake dispersal from the States of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, Haryana, and Goa will also participate in the event.''

However, the State Government has also made special preparations for the program. TVs have reportedly been installed at several fair price ration shops so that all beneficiaries can listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address. On the other hand, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that food festivals will not be celebrated in flood-affected districts. He also said that Anna Utsav will be organized in all other districts of the state except 7 flood-affected districts of Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Datia, and Guna districts.
