Delhi was rocked by a blast again. What are the police doing?

Even before the festive season, Delhi was shaken by a massive explosion. But the eyes of the Delhi Police have not opened yet. When the markets of Delhi were inspected, the security seemed to be at the mercy of God. There are scaffoldings in the market; DFMDs have been installed, but policemen are not seen deployed anywhere.

Not only this, security in Karol Bagh, Sarojini Nagar, Sadar Bazar, Paharganj, and Janpath Market was left to God's mercy. There are no security personnel deployed in these markets for questioning, nor are the metal detectors installed in the markets working properly. People are coming and going freely. However, instructions are being given to the buyers through loudspeakers in the markets to inform the police if they see any suspicious object or activity.

Security personnel were not seen deployed at the entry and exit gates of the market. There is a separate arrangement for security personnel, but no one was seen present there. Metal detectors have been installed, but they are not functional. People are coming and going here without checking. Not only Indians but foreigners are also seen coming to the market for shopping. The situation is such that neither security personnel are deployed here nor patrolling is being done. Shopkeepers have informed us that they are cooperating with the police.

Reports say that in Paharganj, one of the main markets, security is clearly being done in a superficial manner. There are no security personnel on the police watch tower built for security, and no police checkpost was seen there. The CCTV cameras installed in the market were also not working. There are more than 700 hotels in the Paharganj area. There are also many important shops. Due to this, there is a constant movement of people in the area throughout the day.
